Norwood FC & PLCC hosts the Sammy D Foundation
Thursday 9th June, 6.00pm – 7.30pm
Ballroom Room, Port Lincoln Hotel

Norwood Football Club invites players, parents and club officials to attend The Sammy D Foundation’s powerful Violence and Bullying Prevention presentation. This invitation is being extended to young people involved in the NFC Community Skills Program and to the wider sporting community.

What to expect on the night: Participants will first work with Sammy D Foundation facilitators to unpack the story of Sam Davis who was tragically killed as a result of a violent and unprovoked one punch assault. Sam’s story provides students with an example of the characteristics and consequences of bullying and violence. Following the presentation, age-appropriate workshops (25, mins) will see the Sammy D Foundation’s Education Facilitators work with groups of players to explore in greater detail the characteristics and impacts of bullying and violence, while parents and club officials look at the impacts of negative side-line behaviours and their influences.

Target age: Players aged 14-18, parents and club officials

Approximate run time: 90 minutes total

Duke of Ed and NFC Community Skills Program: For all of those young people signed up to the Duke of Ed Award through the NFC Community Skills Program, please ensure this session is logged in your Skills Section of your Award. For anyone keen to sign up to the Duke of Ed prior to this evening, please contact Michael Paech mpaech@norwoodfc.com.au from Norwood FC.

Booking for this via Eventbrite is essential as spaces are limited. Parents are very strongly encouraged to attend with their son or daughter.
